In late 2008, we were very excited to be chosen by architects, Peter Yiangou Associates LLP to provide a refresh to their existing identity.

During discussions with the senior partners, it became evident that the company had evolved and outgrown its previous identity, and what was needed was a fresh look at representing what has become one of the country's most prestigious and sought-after practices. As a result of these discussions, the decision was also taken to take a new step in the official naming of the company and, to better reflect how the brand had come to be recognised, simplify it to 'Yiangou Architects'.

After a considerable amount of careful research and investigation into the habits and tastes of the intended audience, we disposed entirely with the old logo and colour palette, creating a new, fittingly timeless look which reflects the established but ever-evolving nature of the practice. Central to the new identity, a bespoke logotype which plays on positive and negative space, evocative of the nature of architecture. A brand new colour palette made up of rich, earthy tones was also created to reflect both the opulence and quality as well as craftsmanship, and the influence of the natural surroundings which is evident throughout the practices' work.

We took the new identity across a full range of business stationery, in addition to a mini-brochure containing an overview of the company and a small taste of just some their most outstanding work.

Following on from this we worked closely with their in-house web developer to design and develop a new site which uses a combination of the new identity, well crafted copy (Lyndsey Camp) and bespoke photography (Stephan Pankiewicz) to fully reflect the true ethos and beliefs of the practice, and also to showcase their extensive portfolio.

Working with a team of people who value design and appreciate its potential as much as we do, was for us, a very rewarding experience indeed.
